Cappitalism. The Uberization of Work

Abstract

This is a review of Natalia Radetich's new book Cappitalismo La uberización del trabajo, which is anthropological research focused on Uber drivers in the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico. This work explains Uber's business model and how it generates severe conditions of labor exploitation, generating precariousness and forcing the workers to seek ways to work under these pressures, taking individual actions or organizing themselves. This text is highly relevant for documenting the operation of Uber-type companies and their results on workers.
